Natural Star Nani's most-anticipated project Dasara was released in theatres across the country last month. Dasara was Nani's first pan-India release. The actor promoted the film extensively across the country with the intention that it will welcome big openings not only in the Telugu states but across the Hindi belt as well. But, the film disappointed the actor and his team in the North Zone.
Of late, North Indian audiences are accepting South Indian content that has larger-than-life elements. Be it RRR, Pushpa, Baahubali, KGF, Karthikeya 2, or Kantara, the North Indian audience loved all these films. Dasara also has such elements. But, the audience could not connect well with the film.
There are multiple reasons why the film failed to welcome a desired response, but one of the reasons is that the North audiences are not familiar with Nani, and he doesn't enjoy stardom in the North.
Moreover, the collections entirely depend on word of mouth. The support from a prominent figure like Karan Johar would have helped Dasara in getting good pre-release buzz in the North, but that didn't happen.
After Dasara, the next big release in Bollywood will be Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which will hit the screens on April 21. So, Nani still has time to earn good collections. But, the situation does not look favorable for the actor now.
Directed by debutant Srikanth Odela, Dasara features Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. Santosh Narayanan composed the music for it.
