This is the highest number of nominations India has ever received for the Oscars. Indians have been waiting to watch the announcement event quite eagerly. Many Telugu people turned to Youtube to watch this event and expressed their joy at the nomination of “Naatu Naatu”.

There is also an element of disappointment as “RRR” didn’t make it to the best director and best picture categories although it was quite anticipated.
