Pawan Kalyan shelved Satyagrahi for this reason
The film was announced and the posters were also released. But for some unknown reasons, Satyagrahi got shelved.
HYDERABAD: Power Star Pawan Kalyan and producer AM Ratnam delivered the blockbuster Kushi in 2001. After that, they teamed up once again after a couple of years for a project named Satyagrahi. Pawan decided to direct the project himself. AR Rahman was roped in as the music director.
The film was announced and the posters were also released. But for some unknown reasons, Satyagrahi got shelved. Neither Pawan nor Ratnam opened up about the film in any interview. It was speculated that the creative differences between Pawan and Ratnam led to the shelving of the movie.
Finally, AM Ratnam spoke about it in a recent interview. He said that it was Pawan's call to stop Satyagrahi. Apparently, he was highly disappointed by the result of his maiden directorial Jhonny. He thought that Telugu audiences aren't liking his directorial skills. "He didn't want to risk our money with Satyagrahi. That's why he decided to shelve it," said Ratnam.
Pawan and Ratnam teamed up once again for the film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This Krish Jagarlamudi directorial is slated for a 2023 release.
