Ponniyin Selvan collections - No sign of slowing down

HYDERABAD: Mani Ratnam's dream project Ponniyin Selvan is the number-one film at the USA box office currently. Very rarely do we see a Tamil film trending on the charts, and the film is catching everyone's attention now.

The trade revealed that Ponniyin Selvan, part one, has become the all-time highest-grossing Tamil film in the USA. It broke the record of '2.0'.

The reports say that the two parts combined are made on a budget of Rs 250 crore, and the banner will end up recovering most of its investment from the first part itself. The collections are also indicating the same. The film collected more than 5 million dollar rupees at the USA box office.

There is no sign of slowing down currently at the USA box office. On the whole, the film is gearing up to join the 400-crore club. PS-I becomes the third Tamil film, after 2.0 and Vikram, to join the 400-crore-club at the worldwide box office.

Ponniyin Selvan features Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, and Vikram Prabhu are also a part of the film. AR Rahman is the film's music director.
