Popular Malayalam actor arrested for abusing a female journalist

Popular Malayalam actor Sreenath Basi was arrested in Kochi on Monday (September 26) for allegedly abusing a female journalist verbally. He was later released on bail.

If we get into the story, Sreenath verbally abused a female journalist and her camera crew verbally during a promotional interview for his upcoming film. The female journalist, who works for a Youtube channel, filed a complaint against Sreenath last week.

In her complaint, she said that Sreenath abused her and her crew. She further added that he also demanded them to shut the cameras.

The police have registered the case and taken Sreenath into custody. He was then released on bail. Currently, the cops are investigating the issue and will soon decide whether to impose more charges on the actor or not.

Sreenath is one of the most popular and talented actors in Kerala, who is known for his work in films like 22 Female Kottayam, Ustaad Hotel, Kumbalangi Nights, Virus, Anjaam Paathira, Trance and Kappela. Earlier this year, he played a key role in Mammootty's Bheeshma Parvam.
