The Telugu cinema producers' council responded in a positive for the cine workers' demand for an increase in wages. The council agreed to increase the wages of workers by 30 per cent. The meeting was held between the producers' council and Film Federation members the other day.
A few months ago, cine workers held a strike demanding a hike in their wages. At that time, the producers agreed to the demands and made workers call off their strike. Finally, a decision was taken regarding the hike in this recent meeting.
The cine workers stated that there should be a hike in their wages every three years but after the pandemic, the producers haven't implemented any increase in pay. Finally, Film Federation sent notices to the producers' council on September 1st, requesting to look into the issue. It also stated that they will go on strike on September 16th if their demands are not met.
Thus, the producers' council held a meeting and decided to hike the wages of workers by 30 per cent. An official statement regarding the same is expected to be issued today.
