HYDERABAD: Venkatesh Daggubati, in his OTT debut with Netflix's crime drama "Rana Naidu," faced severe backlash from fans and audiences due to its excessive sleaze, expletives, and lackluster script.

During a promotional event for his film "Ahimsa," Venkatesh addressed the negative response the show received.

While acknowledging the feedback from fans, Venkatesh mentioned that Netflix is satisfied with the show. He expressed his belief in not dwelling on the past and moving forward. He emphasized the importance of considering audience preferences for the next season and aiming to please a larger section of viewers.

However, he also acknowledged that it is impossible to always please everyone.

"Rana Naidu" was scripted and created by Suparn Verma and Karan Anshuman, known for their acclaimed gangster drama "Mirzapur" on Amazon Prime Video. The show also featured Surveen Chawla and Suchitra Pillai in significant roles.
