HYDERABAD: In the Telugu film industry, there has been considerable uncertainty surrounding the Sankranti movie releases, with around 10 films in Telugu and Tamil scheduled to hit the screens during the festive season.

The anticipation among producers and audiences in the Telugu states led to discussions about potential postponements to avoid a clash. Initially, the film "Family Star" from Dil Raju's production was postponed, and recently, it was announced that Ravi Teja's movie "Eagle" would also be postponed.

Dil Raju, as the President of the Telugu Film Chamber, has been engaged in talks with various film producers, urging some to consider postponing their releases to avoid a saturation of releases and ensure sufficient theater availability. However, despite these discussions, it was previously uncertain if any film would indeed opt for a delay.

The latest information reveals that Ravi Teja's film "Eagle" has decided to withdraw from the Sankranti competition, providing some clarity on the release lineup for the festival.

After a meeting involving Dil Raju, Damodara Prasad, and Prasanna Kumar, it was announced that, following discussions with the producers who had initially announced Sankranti releases, a decision was made to address the challenges posed by having five films in competition.

According to Dil Raju, during this meeting, the producers of Ravi Teja's "Eagle" expressed their willingness to postpone the film to February 9th. This decision leaves four films, namely 'Hanuman,' 'Guntur Karam,' 'Saindhav,' and 'Na Sami Ranga,' to be released during the Sankranti festival. The move has been appreciated by fans, and the producers expressed gratitude for Ravi Teja's support in alleviating the challenges associated with the festive release schedule.
