Renu Desai, who recently returned to the silver screen with a role in the movie 'Tiger Nageswara Rao' after a considerable break, took to social media to respond to a journalist's comments on her personal life made during an interview.
Expressing her disappointment with the journalist's remarks, Renu Desai stressed the significance of treating women with respect. In her social media post, she sarcastically acknowledged the attention the journalist gained by using her name, advising him to channel his efforts into showcasing his talents instead of indulging in gossip about movie stars.
"Instead of only attacking fictional films for misogyny and sexism, we should all collectively focus on the “real” world which still has men like this person who believes that women are nothing and have no existence beyond their fathers and husbands and sons," she wrote.
Renu also wrote, "This post is not about me because I have become comfortably numb about any nonsense that is spoken and written about
me. This post is to show how much patriarchy and misogyny still exists in our so called modern society. I hope with the discussions and the reforms and change in mindset, our coming generations of women will have their own unique identities and a better life."
In the end, she also mentioned, "This post has nothing to do with my ex husband. This is just to generate a discussion for a better future for our daughters and granddaughters."
