HYDERABAD: Director SS Rajamouli has written a heartfelt note to RRR music composer and his cousin MM Keeravani as the latter was awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri on Wednesday. Rajamouli shared a picture of the two of them on Instagram and expressed his pride and admiration for Keeravani's accomplishments.
The note comes after the success of Rajamouli's period action blockbuster RRR, in which the hit track "Naatu Naatu" earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. This marks the third major international recognition for the track, composed by MM Keeravani, after winning a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award earlier this month.
Rajamouli wrote, “Like many of your fans feel, this recognition indeed was long over due. But, as you say the universe has a strange way of rewarding one’s efforts. If I can talk back to universe, I would say Konchem gap ivvamma. okati poorthigaa enjoy chesaaka inkoti ivvu. MY PEDDANNA. MM KEERAVAANI. RECIPIENT OF PADMA SHRI AWARD."
Ever since Rajamouli began his career, MM Keeravani is with him in every project. For all Rajamouli's films and for the films that the director will be attempting next, it is MM Keeravani who will score the soundtrack.
