Salman Khan helped Godfather only in one way

Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Salman Khan played an important cameo in Megastar Chiranjeevi's recent flick Godfather. It happens to be Salman's maiden Telugu film. The makers expected Salman's cameo to be the main highlight of the movie but alas, it turned out to be the only disappointment.

After watching the film, Telugu audiences felt Salman was a misfit for the role. They opined that a local hero like Ram Charan or Pawan Kalyan would have done complete justice to that character. No young star hero will say no to Chiranjeevi when given this offer. The viewers felt if a young Telugu star hero did that character, the hype around Godfather would have been doubled.

The makers might have felt that Salman's inclusion will boost the film's collections in North India. But that was not the case. Even though Godfather is playing on more than 600 screens across North India, it was able to collect around Rs. 5-6 crores in the Hindi belt.

Salman's factor helped Godfather's team only in the sale of satellite and digital rights. We hear that the film got a whopping price for satellite and digital rates. Salman's inclusion is one of the major factors to get that quote.
