HYDERABAD: Sankranthi holds immense significance as one of the prime business seasons for the Telugu film industry, attracting several big films vying for a Pongal release. Although the festive season is still six months away, an impressive lineup of films is eyeing a Sankranthi release.
Confirmed for the Sankranthi festivities are the releases of Rebel Star Prabhas's Project K, Superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, Prashanth Varma's Hanuman, Ravi Teja's Eagle, and Vijay Deverakonda and Parasuram's untitled project.
There's also a possibility that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 could hit theatres during the Pongal season while Megastar Chiranjeevi gears up to start a film with director Kalyana Krishna, aiming for a festive season release. There are also chances for Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh to hit the screens.
In the middle of all these movies, Nagarjuna Akkineni announced that his film Na Sami Ranga is also scheduled for a grand release during Sankranthi next year. Cashing on the sentiment that his previous films worked well during Sankranthi, Nag wants to repeat the same for this new project.
With multiple films lining up for a Sankranthi 2024 release, the competition promises to be intense, and only time will tell how many of them ultimately make it to the race.
