The 68th National Film Awards were announced on Friday, with the honors for films from 2020. The announcement was made by the Directorate of Film Festivals, which comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The interesting news is that two Telugu films scored big this time. One of them is Natyam, and the other one is Colour Photo.

Telugu small budget film Natyam bagged two awards for the year 2020. This film was produced by a Kuchipudi dancer Sandhya Raju who also played the lead role. The film revolves around classical dance.

The movie attempts to draw a parallel between a contemporary story and a fictional tale dating back to pre-Independent India.

Helmed by Revanth Korukonda, the film received decent talk during its release but failed at the box office. However, with its honest attempt, the movie achieved two national awards. While one is for Best Make-up Artist, bagged by TV Ram Babu, the other is for Best choreography, bagged by the film heroine and producer Sandhya Raju.

On the other hand, Sandeep Raj's debut directorial Colour Photo bagged the National Award for the Best Regional Film. Suhas and Chandini Chowdary played the lead roles in the film.
