For a decade, Hindi cinema has been heavily dependent on South cinema to make its box-office numbers. With a record of numerous hits & profits, the rate of remakes has only gone high but the quality & reach of the film has been proportionally going down and today it reached a point where even the remakes are not being received well.

This time it's the Tamizh blockbuster 'Ratchasan'. The film recorded a very surprising hit when it was released and immediately gained attention & good reception for its making and acting. Soon the film has been remade in all the major languages in the following year and in Hindi, Akshay Kumar decided to remake it.

Titled 'Cuttputlli', the film had a direct OTT release and aired yesterday in Disney+Hotstar. The film ended up being panned by both critics and the audience.

This is the fourth disaster for Akshay Kumar, since 'Bachchan Pandey', 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Rakshabandhan'. Even the remakes of Telugu blockbusters Jersey, HIT & MCA (Nikamma) have bombed big time. Looks like Bollywood has to re-check their approach before going into the filming.
