'Superstar' Krishna is known not only for his pathbreaking films and his eccentric performances but also for the number of first records he created in the Telugu film industry. He is one of the few stars in India, who actually went on to experiment big time and still maintained the star image of a commercial mainstream hero. Even his flops couldn't affect his image.

Now, with the trend of restoration & re-releases, especially after 'Pokiri' & 'Jalsa' a huge announcement came out regarding Krishna's film. 'Simhasanam', the first 70MM 4-track Stereophonic sound movie of Telugu cinema, is now being restored and prepared for a re-released on big screens.

According to the reports, the process for restoring has begun in the 8K version with Dolby sound. The makers are planning to release the flick on 31st May 2023, to commemorate Krishna's 80th birthday. On its initial release, which was on 21st March 1986, 'Simhasanam' created an all-time state record by collecting 1.5 crores in its first-week run. Krishna not only directed and produced the film but also provided the story and screenplay of the film and was also the editor of the film.
