Sushil Rao’s documentary “Oscar Challagariga” selected for Cannes World Film Festival, Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival

The documentary is about lyricist Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose who won the Oscar for the best original song in the Academy Awards 2023

HYDERABAD: A documentary titled “Oscar Challagariga” produced and directed by renowned documentary filmmaker Chilkuri Sushil Rao has been selected for two major international film festivals.

The documentary is about lyricist Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose who won the Oscar for the best original song in the Academy Awards 2023. It captures the atmosphere and celebration in his village “Challagariga” in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district in Telangana, which he visited for the first time after winning the Oscar.

“In the documentary, Chandrabose speaks about what effort it takes to achieve something in life. The documentary has been selected for the reputed Cannes World Film Festival, France for its December 2023 monthly festival to be held in Cannes,” Sushil Rao said on Friday.

Sushil Rao said that “Oscar Challagariga” was also officially selected for the 12th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival to be held in Mumbai on December 10 2023. The film festival would be organised by MiniBoxOffice, he added.
