HYDERABAD: Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej excitedly announced his next project, titled Gaanja Shankar, to be directed by Sampath Nandi. There are speculations that the project has been put on hold, and it may have also been shelved. However, there is a controversy surrounding the film now.

As per the latest reports, the movie has hit a significant roadblock. The Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau issued a notice to the filmmakers, urging them to reconsider the movie's title and storyline. The government sent notices to the film's lead, Sai Dharam Tej, director Sampath Nandi, and the producer, Suryadevara Naga Vamshi.

They expressed concerns that the film might inadvertently glorify drug consumption and sales, which could potentially violate the NDPS Act. Non-compliance with these directives could lead to legal repercussions.

Producer Naga Vamsi, along with Sai Soujanya, is leading the production efforts for this project under the banners of Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas. Bheems Ceciroleo is on board to score the film's music.
