Title curse for Bellamkonda hero
Producer Bellamkonda Suresh's younger son Bellamkonda Ganesh made his acting debut with Swathi Muthyam
HYDERABAD: Producer Bellamkonda Suresh's younger son Bellamkonda Ganesh made his acting debut with Swathi Muthyam. Directed by Lakshman K Krishna, this romantic comedy features Varsha Bollamma as the female lead. It hit the screens on October 5, on the occasion of Dasara.
First of all, the makers haven't promoted the film well ahead of its release. Thus, there was no pre-release buzz. Moreover, Swathi Muthyam clashed with biggies Godfather and The Ghost at the box office.
Still, the film managed to get positive talk right from its first show. But the audiences are not showing interest in watching it. The title also played a spoilsport for this movie.
Kamal Haasan and K. Vishwanath came up with the original Swathi Muthyam in 1986. It is considered a classic in Telugu cinema. Using such a title will be a disadvantage for any film. The same thing happened with the new Swathi Muthyam as well.
Though the film is good, bad promotions and the wrong title have been affecting the film's result. Eventually, it may become one of those films which end up as a flop in theatres and get a good talk in the OTT space.
