HYDERABAD: After a disappointing run in 2020 and early 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian film industry bounced back in style in 2022. Blockbusters like RRR, KGF-2, Vikram, Sita Ramam, etc have brought audiences back to the theatres.

Along with these, Female oriented films have also left their mark on the film calendar this year, with some actresses being at the forefront of this genre. Let's have a look at these actresses:

1. Keerthi Suresh

Raising to stardom after "Mahanati", Keerthi Suresh has become a common name in female-led movies. This year, she came with Nagesh Kuknoor's "Goodluck Sakhi" and Arjun Madheshwaran's "Saani Kaagidam" for which she was critically acclaimed for her performance.

2. Priyamani

Priyamani came with Abhimanyu's "Bhaamakalapam" where she acted as a cooking Youtuber. It was released on OTT which garnered both critical and audience acclaim.

Tapsee came back to TFI with "Mishan Impossible", a film that deals with child trafficking.

4. Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra

Both acted in "Shankini Daakini" together as cops.

5. Lavanya Tripathi

Lavanya led the film " Happy Birthday" directed by "Mathu Vadalara" fame Ritesh Rana, this movie was a trippy ride yet again.

6. Sai Pallavi

Last but not the least, Sai Pallavi stole the show with her "Virata Parvam" alongside Rana and solely led "Gargi" a crime drama based on sexual abuse.

7. Samantha

Last but not the least, Samantha came up action an action-packed drama based on surrogacy in her Yashoda where she also acted as a cop and impressed the audience immensely.
