Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha & Shiva Nirvana trio pin big hopes on 'Kushi' amidst back-to-back flops

HYDERABAD: Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha teamed up for the romantic drama titled Kushi. Shiva Nirvana is directing the project. It is currently in the shooting stage. Meanwhile, Kushi's success is highly important for Vijay, Sam and Shiva because all of their respective last films were disasters.

Shiva Nirvana's last directorial Tuck Jagadish had a direct digital release in 2021. Starring Nani, Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles, this action drama received a negative response from both critics and audiences.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda scored his career's biggest flop with his last film Liger. Directed by Puri Jagannath, this action thriller was released in August 2022 and became a disaster at the box office. All business parties involved in the movie ended up in huge losses.

The same is the case with Samantha's latest film Shaakuntalam. The film was reportedly made on a budget of more than 80 crores but didn't even collect 10 crores in total. It is one of the biggest disasters in Telugu cinema.

Vijay, Sam, and Shiva are coming from huge disasters, and it is highly important for them to score a blockbuster with Kushi. The film is slated for a worldwide release on September 1.
