Vijay Deverakonda's father gives a clarity on 'World Famous Lover' controversy
However, the statements made by distributor and producer Abhishek Nama, who had worked on Vijay's previous film, "World Famous Lover," attracted significant attention
HYDERABAD: Following the remarkable success of his film "Kushi," Vijay Deverakonda demonstrated his philanthropic spirit by allocating a portion of his earnings from the movie to support 100 families in need. The "Dear Comrade" actor pledged to donate Rs 1 crore from his remuneration.
However, the statements made by distributor and producer Abhishek Nama, who had worked on Vijay's previous film, "World Famous Lover," attracted significant attention.
Abhishek Nama asserted that he had incurred losses amounting to Rs 8 crore while distributing Vijay's film "World Famous Lover." He raised questions about whether the losses he suffered would also be compensated by the actor.
In response to these remarks, Vijay Deverakonda's father, Govardhana Rao, has stepped forward to clarify the situation. Govardhana Rao emphasized that the box office performance of "World Famous Lover" and "Kushi" should not be directly compared, as they are distinct projects with unique dynamics.
He revealed that Vijay had a personal meeting with Abhishek Nama, during which it was confirmed that Vijay had not taken a significant portion of his remuneration for "World Famous Lover." Furthermore, K S Rama Rao, the producer of the film was also aware that Vijay had given back a flat which he received before the film's release.
Govardhana Rao asserted that his son would continue to collaborate with successful Telugu producers like Dil Raju, Mythri Movie Makers, and Geetha Arts. However, he made it clear that Vijay would not work with Abhishek Nama again in his career.
