Vikram dubs in five languages for Ponniyin Selvan

Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam is coming up with his dream project Ponniyin Selvan. The first part of this film will hit the screens on September 30. The teaser was unveiled recently and got a terrific response from the audience. Meanwhile, the makers have unveiled a BTS clip of the film.
In this BTS clip, we can see one of the film's lead actors, Vikram, dubbing his voice in all five languages. He has a good knowledge of all the South Indian languages and Hindi as well. Thus, he opted to dub his own voice in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Vikram plays the role of Chola King Aditya Karikalan in the movie. Ponniyin Selvan also features Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shobita Dhulipala, Rahman, Prakash Raj and Trisha in the other important roles.
The film deals with the power struggle within the Chola Kingdom during the 10th century. It is based on the novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Ponniyin Selvan happens to be a historic fiction. AR Rahman is composing the music for it. Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions have jointly bankrolled the project.
