AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Adimulapu Suresh has directed the officials to prepare a Comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Light Metro Modern Tram project in Visakhapatnam.

At a review meeting on the Metro project on Friday, the minister has given directions to the officials to prepare the DPR of the project by giving due consideration to all the aspects including public interests.

On this occasion, Adimulapu Suresh spoke about the advanced Modern Tram project, stating that the project would be developed into four corridors connecting the four sides of the city in coordination with the metro rail system.

Stating that the plans were prepared to build 58 stations in a total area of 60.05 km at an estimated cost of Rs 5,332 crore, the minister ordered the officials to develop a suitable financial model for each corridor in accordance with public needs, demand and other priorities.

Municipal Administration and Finance Department Special Chief Secretary Y Sri Lakshmi, SS Rawat, Metro Rail Corporation MD UJM Rao and others participated in the review meeting.
