7 impersonating for aspirants of Duolingo Exam arrested by LB Nagar SOT police

Police team nabbed the accused persons at Venkateshwara Lodge, where they were allegedly attempting to fraudulently take the online English eligibility test Duolingo Exam.

HYDERABAD: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Operations Team (SOT) from LB Nagar Zone apprehended seven individuals involved in an impersonation racket, writing English eligibility tests on behalf of others.

Acting on credible information, the police team nabbed the accused persons at Venkateshwara Lodge, where they were allegedly attempting to fraudulently take the online English eligibility test Duolingo Exam.

The accused had reportedly been taking the test on behalf of students aspiring to secure admissions in international universities in the USA, Ireland, Australia, and other countries.

Operating as a group, they charged each student between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000 to secure eligible scores in the exam.

All the accused persons are aged between 21-26. Three of them are pursuing B Tech from reputed colleges, while one is pursuing M Sc (Computer Science). Another is pursuing B Sc Computer Science, one is pursuing B Com (Computer Application), and one is pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration.

They have been identified as K Praveen Reddy (22), Trivedi Harinath (21), Banala Krishna (22), Edavally Aravind Reddy (21), Nenavath Santhosh (22), Malladi Naveen Kumar (26), and Alakuntla Vinay (22).

The police seized five laptops, four passports, seven cell phones, one keyboard, and a mouse from their possession. The apprehended accused, along with the seized property, were handed over to Hayathnagar Police Station for further action.
