HYDERABAD: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has announced that his party will contest nine constituencies in Hyderabad in the Telangana Elections, 2023.

While releasing the first list of candidates on Friday, Asaduddin Owaisi said that in addition to the existing seven constituencies, the party would contest in Jubilee Hills and Rajendranagar constituencies.

He said that sitting MLAs Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Mumtaz Ahmed Khan had been dropped from the list, whereas former Mayors Zulfiqar Ali and Majid Hussain would contest from the Charminar and Nampally Assembly constituencies respectively.

Jafar Hussain Meraj would contest from Yakutpura, Ahmed Balala from Malakpet, and Akabaruddin Owaisi from Chandrayangutta. Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin was given a ticket for the third consecutive time from the Karwan Assembly Constituency.

The candidates for Bahadurpura, Jubilee Hills, and Rajender Nagar would be announced in the second list.
