HYDERABAD: Air India cancelled as many as eight flight services at Shamshabad Airport on Monday citing a technical glitch as the reason.

According to Air India management, flight travelling from Shamshabad to Tirupati, Bangalore, Chennai and Mysore were cancelled.

The passengers, who made their arrangements for the journeys, were shocked after the announcement of the cancellation of flights without prior notice and were enraged against the Air India Management for the poor services.

However, Air India expressed regret and assured the passengers that the issue would be resolved as early as possible.

In a reply to a passenger through Twitter who complained over the delay in the Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi flight, Air India said that their team was trying to resolve the issue. "We are sorry to disrupt the travel plans. We always try to avoid delays and cancellations of flights. Flight AI 830 is delayed due to unavoidable technical reasons. Our team is trying its best to minimize the inconvenience caused." Air India wrote on Twitter.

According to sources in the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, the following flights were cancelled.

9I 877 HYD TO TIR (6:10 am),

9I 895 HYD TO BLR (7:25 am),

9I 888 HYD TO VGA (8;15 am),

9I 847 HYD TO MYQ (10:55 am, Mysore),

9I 872 MAA TO HYD (11:25 pm),

9I 878 TIR TO HYD (9:30 am),

9I 896 BLR TO HYD (11:15 am),

9I 848 MYQ TO HYD (3:05 pm)
