Amara Raja Batteries' E-Hub in GMR AeroCity Hyderabad to provide clean energy solutions

E-hub will also support start-ups through incubation, lab spaces and a collaborative ecosystem

HYDERABAD: Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL), one of the largest manufacturers of lead-acid batteries for both industrial and automotive applications, has signed a land lyease agreement with GMR to set up an Advanced Energy Research and Innovation Centre, called the E-Hub, at GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park, AeroCity Hyderabad. This Centre will be a one-of-a-kind institute in India that will pioneer the development of advanced clean energy technologies for mobility and energy storage.

The Centre will be spread across approximately seven acres in the Industrial Zone of the AeroCity. Given the proximity to the airport, well-developed Infrastructure and a vibrant industrial neighbourhood, this development has the potential to kick start a green power storage Ecosystem at AeroCity Hyderabad. E-hub will also support start-ups through incubation, lab spaces and a collaborative ecosystem.

It will have laboratories and testing infrastructure for material research, prototyping, product lifecycle analysis, and proof of concept demonstration.
