HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has announced that all the parks and restaurants under the Buddha Purnima Project (BPP) would be closed on April 14, 2023 (Friday) on account of the unveiling of the 125-foot-tall BR Ambedkar statue.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will unveil the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution, set up under the Buddha Purnima Project on the occasion of the iconic visionary’s birth anniversary on April 14, the HMCA said.

Stating that the decision to close the establishments on April 14 was taken for the larger public convenience, it said that NTR Gardens, Lumbini Park, NTR Ghat, Jala Vihar, Sanjivaiah Park, Amogham Restaurant, among others, would also be closed on Friday.
