Amit Shah, Kishan Reddy, Madhavilatha, Raja Singh of BJP booked for letting kids into poll campaign

HYDERABAD: A case has been registered against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy at Moghalpura police station, as they were seen with a few minor girls holding the BJP flag with a slogan “ab ki baar, 400 paar”.

G. Niranjan, TPCC senior vice-president, filed a complaint by mail to the Chief Electiooral Officer Vikas Raj on May 2 through an email about the incident occurred on May 1 in the city.

The Election Commission rules of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) were allegedly breached the BJP leaders.

A banner was held by a few children with a lotus symbol on it and the slogan written on it at the roadshow of the Home Minister. This is a complaint lodged with regard to the non-compliance of the MCC.

Niranjan complained that the BJP had ignored the MCC and the party had campaigned involving children which was in violation of. The rules.

During Hyderabad Parliament BJP candidate Madhavi Latha's campaign, some minor girls came on to the dais as the Home Minister beckoned to them to get on to the stage. Responding to the complaint, the EC ordered the Hyderabad Police Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the incident.

Commiossioner of Police Kothakota Srinivas Reddy issued orders to South Zone DCP Sneha Mehara to investigate and submit a report. The Moghalpura police investigated and registered a case under crime number 77/2024 under Section 188 IPC

The content of the petition in the e-mail sent by Niranjan is: “The Election Commission recently directed the political parties not to use the services of children and their participation in election-related propaganda or activities. Home Minister Amith Shah on May 1, 2024 has participated in an election rally from Laldarwaza to Sudha talkies in Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency. The rally concluded with a public meeting at Sudha Talkies where you can find a few children along with Amit Shah on the dais.

“One of the children was seen holding banner with a BJP symbol. This is a clear violation of guidelines of Election Commission. We are attaching here with a photo for your kind perusal.”

Based on the contents of received, a case was registered against the accused in Cr.No: 77/2024, U/S: 188 IPC.
