Telangana Chief Minister and the BRS supremo KCR said that political parties were the foundation for the democratic government elected by the people
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday said that political parties were the foundation for the democratic government elected by the people. He said that there was a need to shape up and transform the youth into competent leaders for future nation-building and in tune with the aspirations of the people. KCR stressed on the necessity to impart teaching and training in political, social, fiscal, cultural and ideological spheres to move towards this end.
Reflecting his party’s commitment to these ideals, the BRS chief on Monday laid the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art ‘Bharat Bhavan’ or BRS Centre for Excellence and Human Resources Development in Kokapet of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister performed the ‘bhumi puja’ for the proposed 15-storey building that will be equipped with utra-modern facilities besides taking part in the ‘purnahuthi’ ritual as part of the ‘Chandi Homam’ performed on the occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, KCR highlighted the need for an efficient leadership that functions as per the aspirations of the people of the country. “The responsibility lies on all of us to transform the leadership in a manner that it contributes to the welfare and development of the society. To move towards this objective, we will requisition the services of intellectuals and Nobel laureates from across the globe to impart leadership training. This way, we will strive to further strengthen the edifice of Indian democracy. With this view, we have taken a conscious decision to develop the ‘political excellence and HRD centre’ here,” he said.
The Chief Minister disclosed the plans to invite a host of luminaries including experts in political science, economists and social scientists, writers who inspire social well-being with their works, professors and retired officials to share their expertise in training sessions in political, social and economic spheres. KCR also asserted that the Bharat Bhavan, once ready, would provide comprehensive data to social workers coming to the centre from all parts of the country.
“A wide range of amenities are being created at the centre for the benefit of the trainees. The state-of-the-art facility will have classrooms with modern training paraphernalia, mini-halls equipped with projectors, spacious conference rooms, hi-tech digital libraries and luxurious rooms for accommodation. Reputed newspapers from within India and abroad will be on hand for the trainees. Precious books and works, authored by world’s renowned intellectuals – political and social observers and philosophers – will be readily available. We will also establish information centres that air local, national and international media channels. Networks, that will constantly study, analyse and chronicle news reports and stories, will also be set up,” the Chief Minister said.
The BRS chief said that there would also be special training sessions to create awareness on social media platforms that act as influencers everyday for the lives of the people. While giving an account of the other unique features of the Bharat Bhavan, KCR said that the edifice would come up only in a part of the area while the rest would be filled with greenery. The idea is to create a pleasant atmosphere for the trainees to be imparted with the training at the centre, he said.
Before his address, KCR went around the entire area in his vehicle for a first-hand awareness of the land that will soon house a world-class facility. Interacting with the officials, he enquired with the officials on the various building plans and their timelines. He also sought information on the proposed inner roads besides giving his directions to Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Telangana Government Advisor for Construction Suddala Sudhakar Teja and the officials concerned.
