Bowenpally man kills daughters by giving sleeping pills, dies by suicide

HYDERABAD: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 42-year-old man along with his two daughters died by suicide due to alleged family disputes at their house at Bhavani Nagar in Old Bowenpally on Friday. The deceased were identified as Srikanth Chary, his elder daughter Sravanthi (8) and youngest Sravya (7).

According to police, Srikanth Chary worked in a jewelry shop at Monda market. He married Akshaya, a native of Bhoodan Pochampally, eleven years ago. As per his daily routine, Srikanth Chary reached his house and consumed dinner with his family members and went to sleep. On Friday morning, when Akshaya attempted to wake her husband and daughters, she found the trio were found lifeless on their bed. She immediately alerted her in-law who was also staying in the same building.

Upon receiving information about the incident from locals, a team of police personnel from Bowenpally station rushed to the spot and examined the crime scene. The police found sleeping pills near the bodies and alerted the clues team. In their preliminary investigation, the police questioned Akshaya about the incident and shifted the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. A case was registered and further investigations were underway into the incident.

A pall of gloom descended on Old Bowenpally with family, relatives, friends and neighbours mourning the death of Srikanth Chary and his daughters.

Woman, 2 sons end lives by suicide in Borabanda

In another tragic incident, a woman and her two sons ended their lives by suicide at their house at Borabanda on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Jyothi and her two sons Arjun (4) and Adithya (2) Jyothi worked as a teacher in a Government school in Banjara Hills. She married her maternal uncle Vijay, who was a construction worker.

The police said that Jyothi was under depression as her two sons were born differently abled due to her marriage with Vijay. She initially poisoned her two children and later she hanged herself in their house. Unable to digest the suicides of his wife and children, Vijay also attempted suicide. Alerted family members shifted him to a nearby hospital. His health is said to be stable.

A case was registered by the police and further investigations were underway into the incident.
