Commissioner of Police CV Anand launches 1,000 manpacks worth Rs 10 crore for traffic cops

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand has launched and distributed the newly purchased 1,000 manpack sets to the police personnel at Traffic Complex, Nampally in Hyderabad on Friday.

CV Anand commended the efforts of additional commissioner of police (traffic) G Sudheer Babu for his proactive measures to procure these Manpack sets by having several deliberations with the Motorola Company, apart from obtaining permission from the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing of Delhi. Around Rs 10 crore was spent on purchasing these manpack sets, he said.

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner affirmed that the works for the upgradation of a new communication system would be completed shortly for an effective and moderate communication system in Hyderabad. He appreciated the efforts of Hyderabad Traffic Police for their hard work in implementation of Operation ROPE and other aspects of traffic management in Hyderabad. CV Anand also assured the welfare of the Traffic Police staff by providing sophisticated equipment in future.

Additional CP Sudheer Babu said that in the first of its kind in the country, any Commissionerate/State had procured as many as 1,000 communication sets at a time. With this, the Hyderabad City Police technology went to the next level by procuring sophisticated communication sets, he said.
