Confusion over JL recruitment by TREIRB: Degree from Telangana universities not considered
Candidates appearing for TREIRB JL recruitment process alleged that the notification did not specify any particular university requirement.
HYDERABAD: Many candidates who applied for junior lecturer positions in Biology and Botany were ipset over with the recruitment process conducted by the Telangana Residential Education Institutions Recruitment Board (TREIRB).
The candidates, who specialised in MS Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and microbiology, life sciences, had applied for the positions as advertised by TREIRB. However, during the verification process, complications arose at Sri Potti Sriramulu Telugu Academy on Thursday, as many candidates were prevented from presenting their demonstrations on various grounds. This led to chaos and a contentious atmosphere during the selection process.
The candidates argued that the board lacked the authority to cancel their demonstrations, and they highlighted instances of candidates from diverse life sciences backgrounds being successfully recruited in previous rounds. They also alleged that the notification did not specify any particular university requirement. However, during the verification process, officials seemingly discriminated against candidates based on their university backgrounds. This raised concerns among the candidates, with one noting the recruitment of students from various universities while candidates who pursued their MSc from Telangana universities were denied the opportunity.
Many candidates expressed their frustration and emphasised their preparedness to teach Botany and Zoology, standing in a 1:2 ratio. They voiced their displeasure at being denied a chance, particularly when the urgency of recruitment was emphasised by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Demanding justice, a student highlighted the injustice faced by candidates who, despite their efforts and qualifications, were being sidelined based on unforeseen conditions introduced by TREIRB officials during the selection process, conditions that were not outlined in the initial notification.
The candidates condemned the board officials' behaviour, asserting that their hopes were being dashed on unjustifiable grounds.
