CV Anand discusses police preparedness for Telangana Assembly elections
CV Anand urged all police nodal officers to acquaint themselves with their allotted areas and maintain coordination with the officers
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Commissioner of Police (CP) CV Anand held a preparatory meeting involving officers of ACP rank and above in view of upcoming Telangana State Legislative Assembly (TSLA) elections at the city police headquarters, here on Monday.
The agenda encompassed aspects such as vulnerability mapping, identification of critical polling stations, joint inspections, deployment strategies for specialized forces including striking units and flying squads, and personalized visits to polling stations by ACPs and Station House Officers (SHOs), particularly to aid those newer to their roles.
Integral to the meeting was a detailed review of cases pertaining to the elections. The imperative of preemptively addressing potential disruptors and anti-social elements through binding measures was underscored. Additionally, a strategic compilation of individuals involved in election-related offenses in previous elections was discussed. All police nodal officers should acquaint themselves with their allotted areas and maintain coordination with the officers, urged the senior echelons.
DCPs were tasked to identify suitable accommodation for CAPF and also outside forces. More emphasis on enforcement work with regard to seizures etc. Logistics issues, force deployment, and other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
Additional CP (L&O) Vikram Singh Man, additional CP (special branch) P Vishwa Prasad, joint commissioner (ICCC SMIT) Gajarao Bhupal, joint commissioner (Admin) J Parimala Hana Nutan and other officers were also present.
