Cyberabad police hosts training sessions to equip police for iRAD, e-DAR project

HYDERABAD: Training sessions were held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate in Hyderabad on Monday to sensitise police force about Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) and e-DAR (E-Detailed Accident Report) project, an initiative by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways aimed at improving road safety.

A virtual meeting was held at the Mini Conference Hall at Cyberabad Commissionerate, which focused on the iRAD (Integrated Road Accident Database) and e-DAR (E-Detailed Accident Report) application.

The iRAD application was developed by IIT Madras and NICSI (National Information Centre Services Inc.) under the supervision of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH). With an aim to curb road accidents, seven departments collaborated within this application, including police, transport, highways, health, MACT (Motor Accident Claim Tribunal), insurance, and legal services.

DCP Road Safety LC Naik said that the main objective of the iRAD application was to reduce road accidents and fatalities by 50 percent.

DCP Road Safety, along with the Inspector of Police – Road Safety, SIs of Police, Divisional Coordinators, and other Road Safety personnel, participated in the Zoom meeting held at the mini conference hall. Furthermore, all Law & Order PSs admin SIs and road safety coordinators (RSCs) also joined the session virtually.

The district rollout managers, Amer Ali and Sathish, led the training session on the iRAD application. Participants in the video conference included LC Naik, DCP of Road Safety; G. Guruvaiah, Inspector of Police Traffic; K. Swetha, SI of Police Traffic; along with District Rollout Managers from Medchal-Malkajgiri and RR Districts; Amer Ali; Sathish; and other staff from the Cyberabad Road Safety Bureau.
