HYDERABAD: Special Operation Teams (SOTs) of the Cyberabad Police Comssionerate raided illegal best shops operating under the limits of eight police stations and seized 796.05 litres of liquor worth Rs 7,47,368.
Police captured 45.2 litres in Mokila, 94.78 litres in Rajendranagar, 480 liters in Petbashirbad, 11.25 litres in Shamirpet, 55.8 litres in Bachupalli, 17.4 in Mylardevpalli, 19.14 litres in Nandigama and 6.43 litres in Dundigal.
Cases were booked against the belt shop operators and police warned stern action against anyone who violated the excise and prohibitin Act.
10 Kg Ganja caught
Excise Task Force on the other hand seized 10 kilograms of Ganja in Serilingampalli. The contraband was believed to be procured from Odisha via Andhra Pradesh. The task force believed that the Ganja was transported in a public transport carrier and was kept ready to be handed over to a person in Hyderabad. Police caught one Rahul red-handed in connection with the transportation of the narcotic substance illegally into Telangana.
Another person Vikram was selling the Ganja in small packets to engineering college students and software professionals in the Gachibowli area. However, Vikram and another person Jagannath Biswa were absconding.
Serilingampally Police booked a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and are investigating.
