HYDERABAD: Drinking water supply will be interrupted for 36 hours from 6 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in many parts of Hyderabad.

According to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), the supply would be interrupted due to repair works of a major pipeline in the Pedpadalli district. The affected pipeline is part of the first phase of the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme (GDWSS) from Murmur to Bommakkal.

Water supply would be disrupted in many divisions of the city completely and partially in some other divisions. There would be a complete disruption of water supply in Kukatpally, Qutbullapur, Malkajigiri, Alwal, Uppal, Nagaram, Dammaiguda and Kompally. There would be partial disruption in SR Nagar, Serilingampally and Nizampet divisions.

There would be no water supply from Pragnapur (Gajwel), Aler (Bhongir), Ghanpur (Medchal, Shamirpet), part of the Cantonment area, MES and Turkapally Biotech Park from the Alwal command area. The HMWSSB advised the citizens to utilise available water with utmost care for 36 hours ending 6 pm on July 20, 2023.
