HYDERABAD: Customs officials of Shamshabad International Airport in Hyderabad have arrested four individuals for allegedly smuggling illegal gold and foreign cigarettes and seized huge amounts of gold and cigarettes. These cases have resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of contraband.

According to the police, the customs officials who conducted raids at the airport arrested four passengers in three cases, which includes a passenger traveling from Dubai to Hyderabad with 1,399 grams of illegal gold in one of the cases while another passenger arriving from Jeddah to Hyderabad with 526 grams of illegal gold in another case and the other who arrived from Bangkok to Hyderabad with 62,400 foreign cigarettes in the third case respectively.

The officials seized 1.93 kilograms of gold amounting to Rs 1.17 crores in the process and started investigating the accused by taking them into custody.
