HYDERABAD: A jolly Sunday turned into a nightmare for a family in Amberpet of Hyderabad after a four-year-old boy was bitten and mauled to death by a group of stray dogs in broad daylight.

The tragic incident came to light on Tuesday, after CCTV footage of the incident was released.

On Sunday, since it was a school holiday, he took both his children to the centre. While his daughter was sitting in the security cabin, his son Pradeep went out to play. On his way back, he was attacked by 5-6 stray dogs that viciously bit Pradeep on his hands, legs and even his neck.

Upon hearing his screams, Gangadhar rushed to the spot and shooed away the dogs. He took his injured son to a nearby hospital, where doctors said that the boy had already died.

The incident, yet another in a frightening series of stray dog attacks on children, sparked outrage and condemnation from the public who seek an immediate end to the stray dog menace in the city.
