HYDERABAD: If you're a foodie looking to indulge in traditional cuisine with a unique twist, then Gaurang's Deccan Food Festival is beginning to you enchanting Mushaira, Sufi Qawwali and poetry with delicious vegetarian food in Hyderabad. The festival, taking place on February 25 and 26, celebrates the rich heritage and culture of the Deccan region, with a focus on the famous Nawabi cuisine - but with a completely vegetarian twist, curated by designer Gaurang Shah.

Gaurang Shah's unique take on traditional cuisine promises to tantalise taste buds and leave one wanting for more. "I wanted to bring a new dimension to the festival by adding a vegetarian twist to the traditional Nawabi cuisine. The festival is an opportunity to relive the rich culinary heritage of the Deccan region with a modern twist," said Gaurang.

The Deccan Food cum Music Festival would feature over 20 varieties of traditional dishes from the regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. One could experience a gastronomic experience of Shahi badam shorba, Vegetable haleem, Shammi kabab, Tandoori chaap and more, served on a grand Thali. Each of these dishes boasts unique flavours and preparation methods.

And that's not all! Other traditional dishes like Andhra paneer fry, Nawabi paneer kofta, Navratan korma, Baghare baingan tamatar aur Shimla mirch would also be on offer. With such a wide range of options to choose from, Gaurang's Deccan Food Festival promises to be a paradise for vegetarian food lovers.

The festival would also feature an enchanting line-up of traditional poetry and music. Azhar Iqbal, a renowned Urdu poet and author, regularly featured at various Urdu/Hindi language festivals and Mushairas would also be performing. Another artist, Ameer Imam, is a poet from the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh who has performed on many prestigious podiums in India and abroad. One could also cherish the soulful Qawwali by renowned artists Rajab Ali and troupe from Barmer Rajasthan.

The Deccan Festival would be held at Gaurang's Kitchen in Hyderabad on February 25 and 26 and promises to be a feast for the senses. With a focus on vegetarian cuisine, the festival would be an inclusive event suitable for everyone.
