GHMC warns stern action against illegal transportation of construction waste

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner (GHMC) Ronald Rose on Thursday asked officials to initiate stern action against those involved in the illegal transportation of construction waste.

The GHMC Commissioner inspected various development projects in the Kukatpally Circle on Thursday and visited several locations, including the Allamcheru in Jeedimetla Division, Fox Sagar Pond, the C&D waste collection site at HMT Shahpur Nagar, and the IDPL Junction development works.

At Allamcheru near Dandamudi Enclave in Jeedimetla division, Ronald Rose told officials to remove certain private boards located on the pond's embankment and advised that the C&D waste collected from HMT Colony should be taken directly to the C&D plant for disposal.

While visiting the Fox Sagar pond, the Commissioner inspected the area and inquired about the reasons why water from the pond was being released into the lower areas. In return, the zonal commissioner explained that water was being released to maintain a balanced water levels in the pond and prevent flooding in the low-lying colonies during the monsoon.

Zonal Commissioner Mamata, deputy commissioner Nagamani, SE Chinna Reddy, EE Krishna Chaitanya, town planning ACP Sai Baba, AMOH Manjula, and other officials accompanied GHMC Commissioner during his visit.
