HYDERABAD: A 30-year-old head constable at Hussainialam police station in Hyderabad after his service weapon allegedly misfired. The 2018 batch constable was sleeping when the gun accidentally misfired.
Bhupathi Srikanth returned to Hussainialam police station on Tuesday night after completing his duty at Picket. It was reported that he kept the gun next to him while sleeping. The bullet pierced through his ear making him unconscious. He was rushed to Osmania Hospital where efforts were made to revive him but in vain.
South Zone DCP Sai Chaitanya visited the spot and inquired about the incident. Police are investigating the reasons behind the alleged misfire of the firearm.
