Hyderabad: Cybercrime SI held for possessing drugs in his house
The police registered a case against Rajendra and sent him to judicial remand
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) along with Raidurgam Police has arrested a Cybercrime sub inspector (SI) for possession of drugs at his house.
The accused was identified as Rajendra, a 2009 batch SI. Currently, Rajendra is working as Cybercrime SI in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
According to police, Rajendra recently participated in a special operation in Maharashtra and seized a huge quantity of drugs. However, he did not produce the seized drugs before the court and kept them in his house.
Investigations conducted by the higher officials revealed that he was in contact with drug peddlers. A detailed report in this regard was submitted to Telangana State Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSANB) director CV Anand.
A team of police personnel from H-NEW and Raidurgam conducted checks at Rajendra's house and found around 2 kg MDMS worth Rs 4 lakh in one of his wardrobes. The police registered a case against Rajendra and sent him to judicial remand.
Earlier also, there were several allegations against Rajendra and he was caught red handed by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while served as Raidurgam SI. Rajendra was ousted from his services. He then approached the court and got a stay order on it.
