Hyderabad Metro receives Golden Peacock award for safety excellence
The award ceremony was held at the prestigious "Institute of Directors (IOD's) 25th International Conference on Environment Management and Climate Change" in Bengaluru recently.
HYDERABAD: The L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd. (L&TMRHL) has received the coveted Golden Peacock Award in the Transportation (Railways) category for excellence in occupational health and Safety (GPOHSA).
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the tireless efforts of our entire team in prioritizing a safe and healthy work environment,” L&TMRHL said in a statement here on Monday.

The award ceremony was held at the prestigious "Institute of Directors (IOD's) 25th International Conference on Environment Management and Climate Change" in Bengaluru recently. The award was presented by prominent dignitaries - former Chief Justice of India Uday U. Lalit and Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. KVB Reddy, received the Golden Peacock Award from Justice Uday U. Lalit in the presence of Sudhir Chiplunkar, COO, L&TMRHL.
L&TMRHL emerged victorious against a highly competitive pool of 778 submissions, solidifying its position as a leader in implementing exceptional safety standards. The esteemed award jury was led by Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, further adding to the significance of this recognition.
This award underscored Hyderabad Metro’s unwavering dedication to the safety of its workforce, exceeding 126 direct employees and 2600 total personnel. Winning the GPOHSA reinforced the company's commitment to upholding the most stringent Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards within the industry.
