Hyderabad: One 'Chaddi gang' member arrested, police recover Rs 4 lakh worth of gold

HYDERABAD: Miyapur Police along with CCS Madhapur team has arrested one ‘Chaddi gang’ member at Lingampally railway station, who was involved in four cases in Miyapur and Ameenpur Police Station limits. The police recovered eight thulas of gold worth Rs 4 lakh from the accused.

Disclosing the details to media at his office in Gachibowli here on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Madhapur G Sandeep said that the accused was identified as Minama Mukeshbhai Bharubhai (27), a native of Dahod District, Gujarat. While two other accused in the ‘Chaddi gang’, identified as Vikrambhai Dariyabhai Parmar and Mohaniya Nitinbhai, were absconding. One more accused, Surmal alias Sumo alias Plas Surmalbhai Kaliyabhai, was arrested by Keshod police of Junagadh district, Gujarat, he said.

Explaining the modus operandi of the accused, the DCP said that the accused belongs to Dahod District in Gujarat. One of the accused, Vikram, who worked as a plumber in Hyderabad, suggested to the accused Mukesh, Nitin, Sumral to commit offenses in Hyderabad, where Vikram noticed some houses for committing offenses where they could find more valuables. As per their plan, the accused reached Hyderabad, Lingampally railway station on August 8, he said.

Sandeep said that Vikram had shown the houses to commit offenses in the Ameenpur area and during the evening hours they sheltered in the Ameenpur jungle area adjacent to the house which they were targeted, to avoid unwanted inquiries by the public and police. While going to commit offenses, they dress up in underwear and baniyan, covering their face with rummals, handle footwear in hands and tie up shirt, pants to their waist, to avoid hooks, fencing, etc and escaping from the place of offenses. After committing the offenses, they again hide in bushes till the early morning hours to avoid unwanted inquiries from the public and police, he said.

APPEAL TO PUBLIC:

It is requested that the public not leave scope to enter into the house through windows, ventilators and lock their houses with high security systems. Establish proper security staff during the day and night time. And not to keep valuables at home, deposit them in bank lockers or carry them along with them safely. Kindly install CCTV surveillance for 24 hours.
