Hyderabad police apprehend two suspects in murder case linked to phone snatching

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police on Monday apprehended two individuals involved in a murder case linked to phone snatching in Gudimalkapur police station.
The main accused, Mohammad Aziz Qureshi, allegedly snatched the phone of the deceased, Mohd Sanaullah, an artificial flower seller, around 11:45 p.m. on April 30, 2024, as Sanaullah waited at a bus stop in Laxmi Nagar, Gudimalkapur, under the pretense of inquiring about an address. When the victim resisted and attempted to apprehend Mohammad Aziz, he reportedly attacked Sanaullah with knives, resulting in fatal stab injuries and Sanaullah's subsequent death.
Investigation revealed that the two-wheeler (Hero Dio) used by Aziz Qureshi (crime vehicle) was also stolen in another incident reported at KPHB Colony police station (Cr. No. 450/2024). Additionally, it was found that the accused used this vehicle to commit another cell phone snatching in Mailardevpally Police Station limits near Aramghar area (Cr No. 374/2024 u/s 382 IPC) on the afternoon of April 30, 2024.
Previously, the accused, A1, was involved in the theft of another two-wheeler (Honda Shine) from the Bada Bazar area, registered under Cr. No. 192/2024 u/s 381 IPC of Golconda police station.
Acting on credible information, on May 6, 2024, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad city, along with Gudimalkapur police, apprehended the accused and his accomplice involved in the murder and robbery case.
A case was registered Cr.No.233/2024 U/s 302, 397, 109 r/w 34 IPC and Sec 25(1-B) of Arms Act related to the incident that occurred on April 30, 2024, at Pillar No.66, Laxmi Nagar X road, Gudimalkpur, Hyderabad.

DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City; and Mohd Munawar, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Kulsumpura Division, Hyderabad city.
