Hyderabad police nab fake doctor in Amberpet
Ankalap, aged 53 and a resident of Ramanthapur, Hyderabad, had acquired some knowledge of Ayurvedic and General medicine while working in clinics
HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force, Central Zone Team, apprehended Raju Gangaram Ankalap, a fake doctor who had been operating under the guise of a qualified medical professional. Ankalap, who posed with false credentials, ran a clinic Sri Sai Venkateswara Clinic in Amberpet, where he defrauded innocent patients and endangered their lives for illicit profit.
Ankalap, aged 53 and a resident of Ramanthapur, Hyderabad, had acquired some knowledge of Ayurvedic and General medicine while working in clinics. With the intent of making easy money unlawfully, he had devised a scheme to establish his own clinic in Hyderabad.
Operating as a doctor without legitimate qualifications, Ankalap printed a prescription letter pad with the name Dr. A. Raju, D.NYS, P.G.D.EM.S. (Mumbai), and Family Physician.
Lacking valid doctor qualifications and lacking permission from the medical board, Ankalap exploited innocent patients by conducting health assessments and prescribed medications without proper diagnostic reports, putting their lives at risk to further his illicit gains.
Acting on credible information, the Central Zone Task Force team apprehended the fake doctor and seized various medicines and medical items from his clinic.
The police seized Dispo Van injections - 20, syringes - 15, sterile water bottles for injections - 03, Nebulizer Machines - 2, Prescription Books - 8, Stethoscope - 1, Weighing Machine - 1, Pulse Oximeter - 1, Digital fever check meter, Multivitamin injections and Tablets, and net cash of Rs. 1,200.
An earlier case (CR No. 215/2023) under sections 419 and 420 of the IPC had been registered against him at Amberpet police station.
The accused, along with the confiscated medical items, was handed over to the SHO of Amberpet police station for further necessary action. A new case was registered under CR No. 184/2024, under sections 419 and 420 of the IPC at Amberpet police station.
The operation was carried out under the supervision by S. Rashmi Perumal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Inspector N. Rama Krishna, sub-inspector N. Nagesh, and the Central Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad.
