Hyderabad police warn of real estate scammer Molla Shivaiah, who duped Rs. 10.86 cr

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police on Tuesday issued a warning regarding Molla Shivaiah, a habitual real estate offender who deceived around 70 individuals and duped Rs. 10.86 crores under the guise of real estate investment and training.

The accused, identified as Molla Shivaiah alias Siva Kumar, has been embroiled in a series of deceptive activities, including making false claims related to real estate and health. He employed various tactics, such as delivering motivational speeches on YouTube channels under the names Mimamsa and Reboot, enticing viewers with promises of lucrative real estate training and investment opportunities.

Shivaiah, along with his wife SwarnaLatha and son Jashwanth, conducted indoor and online meetings, charging hefty fees per participant. Promising multifold profits, Shivaiah manipulated attendees into investing in bank auctions and commercial lands, issuing post-dated cheques and promissory notes as false security.

In addition to his fraudulent real estate ventures, Shivaiah misled people through YouTube videos and podcasts, falsely claiming to be a naturopathy doctor and NLP Trainer, offering cures for various ailments without proper qualifications. Multiple cases have been registered against him, and despite being under judicial custody, Shivaiah resumed his deceptive activities upon release on bail.

Around 30 individuals fell victim to Shivaiah's scam and invested nearly Rs. 10.86 crores based on his assurances. Consequently, two cases have been filed against Shivaiah and his family members at CCS, DD, Hyderabad, accusing them of intentionally defrauding these investors and an additional 40 individuals under the guise of real estate training.

Shivaiah, his wife, son, and their advocate, G. Srinivas, faced multiple charges at LB Nagar, Bachupally, and KPHB police stations, along with Central Crime Station, Hyderabad, all related to fraudulent activities.

Following his arrest, Shivaiah spent 88 days in judicial custody at Chanchalguda jail, while his son, Molla Jashwanth, was incarcerated for 60 days. As part of the ongoing investigation, all accounts associated with the accused have been frozen, and their properties seized under the TSPDFE Act, 1999.

Despite his time behind bars, Shivaiah wasted no time upon his release, resuming his deceptive practices by producing YouTube videos and organising real estate training sessions and Mimamsa wellness resorts/medical camps.

Hyderabad police exercise caution

The police appealed to the public to remain vigilant against such fraudulent schemes promising unrealistic returns. Any suspicious activities should be reported promptly to the authorities, thereby safeguarding the interests of the general public.
