Hyderabad Sailing Week from July 4 at Secunderabad Sailing Club

HYDERABAD: The 37th Hyderabad Sailing Week will be held from July 4 to 9 at the Secunderabad Sailing Club, announced the Sailing Week Yachting Association of India (YAI) on Monday.

A series of activities were planned to make the event a great sailing celebration for the twin cities. The event will draw the biggest congregation of sailors from across the country.

A National Sailing Coaching Camp was held from June 20, 2023, to June 30, 2023, as preparation for the main event. The National Judges Seminar was held on June 29th and 30th, 2023, while the National Measurers Clinic took place on July 1st and 2, 2023.

As part of the sailing week, Practice races will be held on July 4, 2023, followed by competitive sailing from July 5 to July 8, 2023. The closing ceremony and prize distribution will be conducted on July 9, 2023.

The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad experience the most competitive, prestigious, colourful and glamorous event in the form of Hyderabad Sailing Week, with the breathtaking sight of colourful sails in the background of Hussain Sagar every year as the monsoon season approaches. The event's popularity grew over time, attracting both residents and tourists.

The chief guests for the opening ceremony on July 4, 2023, will be Lt. Gen. JS Sidana, Commandant MCEME. Many senior army officers and Government officials are likely to attend the week-long event.
