Hyderabadi student pursuing masters in Canada dies of cardiac arrest

HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old Hyderabadi student, pursuing Masters in Information Technology (IT) from Conestoga College, Waterloo Campus in Kitchener City in Ontario in Canada, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday.

The student, identified as Shaik Muzammil Ahmed, a resident of Tolichowki, had been studying in Canada since 2022. He reportedly had been suffering from fever for the past week. However, his family received a call from his friend stating that he had died of cardiac arrest.

Upon hearing the news, his parents and the entire family were gripped by shock and urgently appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to facilitate the swift repatriation of his mortal remains to Hyderabad. Prompt action was requested in response to their plea.

Amjed Ullah Khan MBT spokesperson requested Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs, Government of India, to ask the High Commission of India in Ottawa and the Consulate General of India in Toronto, Canada, to reach out to the deceased family and make necessary arrangements to send back the mortal remains as soon as possible.

Dheeraj Pareek, Consul (Press, Info. & Comm. Welfare) at the Consulate General of India in Toronto, responded to Amjed Ullah Khan via email, informing him that they had contacted Valiuddin and explained the entire process of repatriating the mortal remains. Dheeraj also reportedly shared his contact details with Valiuddin and assured all possible assistance for the early repatriation of the late Muzammil's mortal remains to India.
